Jaclyn Scandinaro, LCPC, C-DBT, NCC
Hi, I'm Jaclyn and my pronouns are she/her. (Learn more about my pronouns here: https://www.mypronouns.org/) I am a native New Englander, proud to call Chicago my home over the last 10 years. I am someone who identifies as a “recovering perfectionist”, a foodie, a dog mom and a music enthusiast.
As someone who has once worked both in the service industry and high volume sales prior to becoming a therapist, I know first hand the stress, pressure, anxiety and fear associated with these roles. I am also familiar with the feelings of being overworked and under-valued. Through my work, I have seen significant change in those who have had similar experiences and feelings as I once did.
Currently, I am a culturally sensitive and LGBTQ+ affirming Licensed Clinical Practicing Counselor (LCPC) and certified DBT therapist in the State of Illinois. In addition to therapy I am a Improv Therapy instructor with Improv Therapy Group. I have earned my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Adler University in Chicago. If you work with me, the most common therapeutic techniques I may use will be Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focused Therapy, harm reduction techniques, and Exposure Therapy (ERP). I may even throw some improv games in the mix because I believe there is healing within humor.
I enjoy collaborating with and supporting those who live with anxiety. Most recently, I have seen great results working with those who are in those high demanding sales roles, those who service our community like the service industry folx and people who live with OCD or heightened anxiety.
Together, we will build trust, establish goals, embrace imperfection and create a reasonable structure that encourages you to grow, evolve and utilize the skills with confidence to reduce your anxiety!
